Chrome Extension Permissions

Our Chrome extension requests these permissions:

  • activeTab: To read the current page's URL and title when you save a bookmark
  • tabs: To save bookmarks from any tab and enable bulk saving
  • contextMenus: To add "Save to Nivus" option to right-click menus
  • storage: To securely store your authentication token locally
  • host permissions for nivus.app: To communicate with our servers

We only access page information when you explicitly choose to save a bookmark. We do not track your browsing history or collect data from pages you don't bookmark.

Your Rights and Choices

  • Access: You can view all your bookmark data through your Nivus account
  • Deletion: You can delete individual bookmarks or your entire account at any time
  • Export: You can export your bookmark data in standard formats
  • Email preferences: You can opt out of non-essential communications

Data Retention

  • We retain your account and bookmark data while your account is active
  • If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days
  • Some data may be retained in backups for up to 90 days for security purposes

Children's Privacy

Nivus is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

International Users

Your information may be stored and processed in the United States. By using Nivus, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States.
